Fifth Annual

The Largest Jewish community waterfront cleanup
Thank you • GRacias • Obrigada • გმადლობთ • תודה • MulTumesc
On six continents, in 12 countries, Jewish communities committed to participate in the 5th Annual Reverse Tashlich. More than 3000 people began 5783 by coming together to remove "sins" (man-made debris) from local beaches, waterfronts, parks, and marinas, as an expression of their Jewish values.
Thank you to the Maurice A. and Thelma P. Rothman Family Foundation, the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation, and the Joseph Alexander Foundation for making
Repair the Sea and Reverse Tashlich possible.

Community members from three synagogues:
filled between 40 and 50 garbage bags with trash
Three communities also came together in California
They logged 332 pieces of debris with the Marine Debris Tracker app.
Los Angeles, California
"This year it was inspiring to be joined by two other congregations with different Jewish affiliations. [It's] nice to see Jews of every denomination coming together to clean the beach."

Four days before Reverse Tashlich, Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida
our hearts go out to temple judea in Fort Myers,
and our communities impacted and unable to join the event due to the storm.
This hurricane is a striking indication of why Reverse Tashlich is important.
Every piece of trash removed creates healthier ecosystems and a healthier planet.
Thank you to everyone who joined the
5th Annual Reverse Tashlich.
